This Alentejo cottage is the largest of three sharing a private saltwater lap pool — the kind of countryside stay built for slowing right down. You've got two full ensuite bedrooms downstairs, each with a mezzanine tucked above for extra sleeping, and a reading nook that looks straight out over the garden and pool. There's no wifi and no television here, and that's very much the point. Come for the quiet, the birdsong, and easy days by the water — Santiago do Cacém is a short drive away, and the wild Costa Vicentina beaches aren't much further.

Home truths
The mezzanines are reached by steep, unrailed stairs — not advisable for small children, guests with limited mobility, or after a glass of wine too many.
There's no wifi and no TV at this stage. Bring a book.
Hot water takes a few minutes to arrive — the heat pump lives out in the annex. Worth knowing before the first shower.
The pool, garden, and access road are shared with Casa Manila and Casa Maputo — quiet hours (10pm–8am) matter more here than in a standalone house.
This is genuine countryside: expect bugs, geckos, and birdsong as standard, not a fault to report.
